Mayette make-over

This was like 2 weeks ago.

We were at my boyfriend’s place and got nothing to do.

We were just watching with his yayas and thinking of what game we can play (so child like). I then realized that my train cases were in his room and decided to put makeup on one of his yayas. My boyfriend then got my traincase and we started to give her a make-over. This is yaya Mayette with her before and after photo.

Useful Gifts for Christmas and Holidays

Most of us probably have no gifts for the coming Christmas yet.

Thinking of what gift could be given away?

Well, I’ll be giving you some cheap yet useful gifts to give which are safe for either men or women for this year’s Christmas and where to find them.

 

1. UMBRELLA

Why umbrella? Isn’t that so girly? Come on! If it’s already raining, would you find a guy girly if he’s using an umbrella to shield himself from the rain? NO! So, umbrella will be forever useful for everyone especially now that the weather keeps on changing. It can also be used to block the sun, so why not give an umbrella, right? Cheap yet very sturdy umbrellas can be bought in Japan Home Centre (Daiso and Saizen). They have branches in Waltermart E. Rodrigues Q.C., Robinsons Galleria, Market! Market!, Gateway Mall, Alabang Town Center, Eastwood City, Trinoma, and Greenhills Shopping Center. I think it is only P 88.00 or more.

 

2. PLANNER

Yes, a planner! It is always good to keep track of your schedule especially to those who are working. There are reports that need to be passed on time, so be reminded and never forget. You don’t actually need those big bulky planners but if you think it’s cute, then GO!!! It is still good to give very nice gifts. Papemelroti have a small planner which i find sooo cute. They are just so cheap but very eco-friendly. It is around P 30.00 to P 50.00 only. They have branches in SM North Edsa, Alimall Cubao, SM Fairview, SM Megamall, Glorietta 3, and their main branch is in Korben Place Roces Avenue Q.C.

 

3. POCKET FLASH LIGHT AND WHISTLE 

Come on! Why a pocket flash light and a whistle? It is a must for everyone!!! These are the stuff you need wherever you go especially to places where calamities are very often happening. Whenever you are in danger, you can just blow the whistle to let people know and alarm them that you are in an emergency. For dark places and if you’re stuck somewhere, you will need a flash light to see the way and even just to see who’s there with you. Japan Home Centre also has these stuff. You can get them below P 100.00.

 

4. STICKY NOTES

Aside from the planner, it is also good to give stick notes. But, remember to give not just 1 set of sticky notes or post-its, they might think that you do not give importance to them that much. It is still good to be generous and give more. Sticky notes will help them remind themselves of the urgent calls and reminders. Doesn’t the planner do that? Yes, but it still is good to see a bigger copy of your schedule daily and be reminded all the time. There’s this store in Greenhills, Regina’s, which sells cheap sticky notes. It only costs around  P 20.00 to P 50.00 and the have very nice designs. Very cute!

 

5. DAILY BREAD

If you cannot give a Bible, give at least a simple daily bread as their daily devotion with Christ. Let them rejoice not only physically, mentally but also spiritually. It still is good to be conversing with the Lord daily and having deep relationship with Him. Do not even ask the price. This is a must! You also need to buy 1 for yourself.

 

6. PAMPERING KIT

What is a pampering kit? Well, this is a kit where you will have all your kikay needs. People need to pamper themselves especially those people who seem to be so stressed. It is great to exfoliate your skin daily, avoid sunlight, and protect your hair from the sun. Body scrub should be in this kit. A shampoo as well needs to be in it, and also a lotion.

So, these are some gift ideas for this coming holiday. Keep posted and wait for other useful tips and updates.

 

Remember: you are not limited to the stores indicated above. It is still the better to go for the cheaper ones and best to go to Divisoria to find these things especially if you’re buying wholesale.

World Poomsae Champions -opportunity to work with them

HAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!!!!

 

I still can’t get over with this.

 

I received a call from a very nice photo journalist Mr. Linus Escandor of Manila Bulletin asking me to be the makeup artist for a photoshoot on December 10, 2011. I had no second thoughts and just said “YES!” without even knowing what the shoot is for. Few seconds of waiting who the models will be, I was surprised when he said it will be the TeaKwonDo chicks. I was screaming when I heard that. They were my idols. You may be thinking, “okay, so who the hell are they?” They are the World Poomsae Champions!

 

So, what is poomsae? Poomsae is a Korean word meaning “form”

 

Way back 2009, I guess, I saw this newspaper in MRT and they were on the front page. I was so stunned because they do not look like they are athletes but more like beauty queens. I was very stunned that I took the newspaper home.

 

Yesterday, December 10, 2011, I met the 3 TaeKwonDo beauties Rani Ortega, Camille Ararilla, and Janice Lagman. They were sooooo nice and very pretty. I just can’t believe that I was their makeup artist that day.

 

So, to reveal what the shoot is for, it is for the cover of SPORTS DIGEST for the January issue. YES!!! My work will be on the cover!

 

When January comes, I will be the youngest makeup artist to have her work published on the front page of a magazine. 🙂

Dr. Martens Philippines Opening

For the past months I’ve been looking for something that is not present at all.

I was actually looking for the store of Dr. Martens here in the Philippines and depressingly all of their branches closed. I was then looking for a website selling cheap but Authentic Dr. Martens and found a facebook page of Doc Martens Philippines which is owned by Bryan. He’s selling second hand but still good as new Dr. Martens shoes. And as i was browsing, I found the official facebook page of the new Dr. Martens Philippines. I was thrilled when i read that they are opening a store in The Fort. I impulsively got 2 tickets for me and my boyfriend, next thing I know was I am already talking about it the whole day and I even had my friend Lyka join us and get herself a ticket as well.

 

December 9, 2011 we weren’t able to go at 1pm but we went there for the event itself. Arrived at The Fort Strip at exactly 8pm, we then went to the concept store. 

My boyfriend was a bit disappointed to find just few designs but he saw a pair that he likes. Purple suede 3989 Wingtip Brogues but the smallest size is 8 and he’s just a size 7. The group of Borgy manotoc were the ones who enter Dr. Martens here.

 

The band of Lourd de Veyra, Radioactive Sago Project, played and started the party. Spotted Georgina Wilson and Raymund Gutierrez. Also, that night was like a reunion for my boyfriend Miguel. His former Ateneo soccer team co-player Sam Wilson, brother of Georgina Wilson, was there and they were able to talk again after ages! Also a former neighbor of him was spotted and a co-drifter Bryan Revilla was there.  It was a night of pure awesomeness.

Welcome to WordPress

At last!!! I was actually thinking where to make a blog and choices are tumblr.com, blogspot.com and wordpress.com. Most say that it’s better to use tumblr since a lot of people use it and you’ll get more followers there. Well, i find wordpress more professional. So, yes, i’ll be posting here daily and i’ll post some of my works. Updates will also be made thru this blog. 🙂

 

I’m still trying to figure out how things work here, so i’ll post later then. 🙂
